Baby Shower Cake Design Ideas - A Few Fun SuggestionsAre you looking for inspired baby shower cake design ideas? When there's a baby shower coming up, the first thing that is usually planned is the cake. There are so many baby shower cake themes and designs available that it can be really difficult to decide just which one to make. This article gives you three options for baby shower cake designs - there's a rubber ducky, that is really easy to make, for those of you who are not too handy when it comes to baking; a really gorgeous, elaborate, baby shower cake, so beautiful that it would fit in quite comfortably in an art gallery; and then there's the third cake - equally as beautiful, but no baking required! For the rubber ducky baby shower cake design, you will need a 12" x 18" cake pan, two cake mixes, three tubs of frosting, food coloring, eggs, oil and water for the cake mix, and non-stick cooking spray. Find, or draw a pattern of a duck, to use when you need to cut the cake into the proper shapes. Pre-heat your oven to 350 degrees. Prepare the cake pan by generously spraying it with non-stick cooking spray, to prevent the cake from sticking when it is done. Pour the cake batter into the pan until 3/4 full. If you have any batter left over, make a few cup cakes, or one smaller cake with it. Bake the cake in the pre-heated oven. When you begin to smell the cake cooking, it is time to check how the cake is doing. Insert a clean skewer into the center of the cake - if it comes out clean, the cake is ready. If it has a film of wet batter on it, the cake needs to bake for a little longer. When the cake is done, remove from the oven, leave to cool for 15 minutes, and then flip the cake onto a cake board. Leave the cake to cool completely before you decorate it, or the frosting will melt. Cut the cake into the shapes of your duck, and then you can have fun decorating it as you wish. The second baby shower cake design is of a baby's crib. It is absolutely beautiful, and it even has a baby doll lying on top! It is covered in butter cream icing, is really heavy, and very big! This baby shower cake design is definitely for someone who is having a large baby shower with many guests. If you are interested in this cake, and want to get an idea if you would like to make one, have a look on the internet - it's really worth it! The last baby shower cake design is one that needs no baking. It is made from rolled up diapers, piled up into the shape of a beautifully tiered cake. It is decorated with ribbons, flowers, and scrap booking stickers, and a pair of bootees. This cake can be made for either a boy or a girl, in other words, in either pink or blue, and presented to the mom-to-be as a present. What a novel way to give someone a pack of disposable diapers as a baby shower gift!
