If you choose a plain black and white picture, you can color the picture with crayons or pencils, which will add color and at the same time give the invitations a childlike feel.

Adding to the party invites a black and white photograph of the mom-to-be while she is pregnant is also an interesting touch to your efforts to create baby shower invitations, while at the same time saving you from designing some graphics. Make sure the picture is of good quality; even if the picture is in color, there are many photograph editing programs that can change the picture into black and white. These programs also allow you to place interesting and unusual borders around the photograph to round it off.

When you create baby shower invitations, choose a font that fits with the style of the invitation or one that looks like a child's handwriting. The size of the font should also be large enough to read, but not too large that it distracts the reader from the overall feel of the baby shower invites. Add shadow to the font to help give it a 3D effect and make it look more professional.

The information on the invitation needs to give the guest the time and date on which the baby shower will happen, as well as give them the venue name and address. If there is a theme and the guests have to dress up for the baby shower, then this should also be on the invitation. A RSVP name and telephone number is very important, so that you can make sure you have catered for the right number of guests; an RSVP email address is also fine.
