Not only is this a well-loved dish, it is very easy to prepare. Simply take two 16 ounce cans of green beans and place in a large casserole dish. Now add one large can cream of mushroom soup and mix well. Add 1 teaspoon salt and 1/4 teaspoon pepper. Top with a large can of French fried onions. Bake for 30 minutes in a 350 degree preheated oven. Serve warm. You can add some of your favorite spices to give this recipe a unique flavor. Spices that go well with this recipe include minced garlic, thyme, and dried parsley. Another easy Thanksgiving recipe is spinach-artichoke dip. This is a great appetizer, giving your guests a wonderful start while they savor the smells of the dinner to come. You will need on one 10 ounce package frozen spinach (thawed with all the excess liquid squeezed out), one 8 ounce package cream cheese (softened), 3/4 cup mayonnaise, 1 package Knorr's vegetable dip mix, one 14 ounce can artichoke hearts, 1 can water chestnuts (drained), and 2 gloves finely chopped garlic. Mix all the ingredients together and serve with your favorite crackers. You can also serve this easy Thanksgiving recipe with toasted bread squares or pita chips. For an easy Thanksgiving drink recipe, you can serve your guests a hot spiced cranberry or apple cider. With the cooler temperatures that usually come with the holidays, any hot cider drink is sure to be a meal time favorite. For a hot cranberry cider, you will need 1/2 gallon apple cider, 6 cups cranberry juice, 1/4 cup brown sugar (tightly packed), 4 cinnamon sticks, 1 1/2 teaspoons whole cloves, 1 thinly sliced lemon. Combine all ingredients in a large pot and bring to boil. Then reduce heat and let simmer 15 to 20 minutes. Remove cinnamon, cloves and lemon. Serve hot. Another easy Thanksgiving recipe favorite is marshmallow covered yams. This is a recipe that can either be a side dish for your main meal, or can be a dessert option. You will need the following items: 5 to 6 pounds fresh sweet potatoes (or yam) fully cooked, 4 tablespoons butter or margarine, 2/3 cup brown sugar (tightly packed), 1 teaspoon cinnamon, 1/2 teaspoon nutmeg, one 8 ounce can pineapple (optional), one bag miniature marshmallows. Place insides of cooked sweet potatoes in a food processor along with the butter, cinnamon, brown sugar and nutmeg. Puree mixture until smooth. If you are going to use the pineapple chunks, add them at this point and stir evenly throughout mixture. Pour into a casserole dish and top with marshmallows. Bake in a preheated 375 degree oven for 10 to 15 minutes or until the marshmallows start to brown. With these easy Thanksgiving recipes, you can turn your family meal or Thanksgiving party into a memorable one for you and your guests.
