Useful ResourcesI know most graduating classes make it a point to come up with just that one special graduation song that will bring tears to everyone's eyes and at the same time inspire graduates to fly high with their new set of wings. There are so many good graduation songs and it may be quite difficult to choose just one. What I would do is narrow your list down to three or four and then take a vote from classmates or those who are planning the graduation ceremony. Here I will share some of the more popular graduation songs. Maybe you will find that special, memorable one that will cause your graduating class to tear up and be speechless for just a few minutes. A very good graduation song is "Breakaway" by Kelly Clarkson. Just read over the chorus lyrics and you'll understand why many graduation ceremonies use this song.
"I'll spread my wings and I'll learn how to fly.
How about "Graduation Song" by Vitamin C? This seems to be a very good graduation song and often causes tears to flow, as the lyrics really strike the heart of graduates. As the chorus is sung, it reminds graduates that though school has been awesome, it's time to move on.
"As we go on, we remember
The classic 80's song, "True Colors" by Cyndi Lauper is frequently used as well, encouraging graduates to let their true colors of love, respect, joy, service, etc. shine on even after they graduate.
"I see your true colors shining through.
For a very inspirational song, consider Josh Groban's, "You Raise Me Up." This song serves as a reminder that graduates have accomplished their task and have risen up to now begin a new journey. Here is the chorus:
"You raise me up, so I can stand on mountains;
These are just a few samples of the hundreds of good graduation songs available. Other good graduation songs could include Matchbox Twenty's "How Far We've Come", Green Day's "Good Riddance", or "I Believe I Can Fly" by R. Kelly.
