Useful ResourcesIf you're still in high school now, you'll know that cliques have a habit of sometimes forming not around economic status or year in school, but around the type of music students like to listen to: metal heads, the ballerinas, the Goth kids, and so on. The high school graduation song can be one of the more memorable and important senior class symbols, along with the class emblem, motto or color. Choosing a graduation song, as you can imagine, is fraught with many considerations. There are so many tastes to consider. When choosing a graduation song, it's probably best to stay away from niche bands (Rap, Death Metal, Punk, etc.). Unless you live rurally or the majority of students like Country music, that may be out, too. Know your audience. High school graduation songs may be played at the prom, class assemblies, award ceremonies, and, of course, at the actual graduation ceremony itself. The band or choir may perform the song, so take into consideration whether the sheet music is available for purchase or download (preferably with the orchestral or choral arrangement already done). Many high school graduation songs include themes of memory, friendship, fun and students' future potential. Graduation time is also a moment when many realize that there could be changes to their relationship with good friends - people who've been there for them through the school years, supporting them. Perhaps they will be going to different colleges. Or, one is going to college, and the other staying behind in the hometown. Students are on the brink of big change. Following is a selection of high school graduation song choices. These possible high school graduation songs are not presented in any particular order. Listen closely to the lyrics, and you'll understand why one (or more) of these may be the right choice for you.
