Set your slow cooker to high. Take one pound, lean beef stew and cut it into small, bite sized pieces and place in the slow cooker. Add one large can cream of mushroom soup and one package Lipton onion soup mix. Next, add fresh chopped oregano, thyme, and rosemary. Add one bay leaf (make sure to remove bay leaf after stew is cooked). Cut 5 or 6 large potatoes and 2 carrots and add to the mixture. Let cook for approximately 2 1/2 hours. Next add small can each mushrooms, peas, green beans, corn, and lima beans. Let cook an additional hour or until the beef is completely cooked. Serve with croutons rather than crackers for an added taste.

In a large pot, stew 6 to 7 large potatoes (cut into bite sized pieces) along with one chopped onion, one clove garlic (minced), and mushrooms. When the potatoes are cooked down into a semi-thick stew, add one small block Velveeta cheese (diced), one package bacon bits, and ham chunks. You can also add chopped bell peppers for added taste. This is another soup that is best served with croutons rather than crackers.

To make your own chicken soup at home, you will need the following ingredients: 1 whole chicken cut up, 4 carrots halved, 4 celery stalks halved, 1 large onion halved, enough water to cover, salt and pepper to taste, and one cube chicken bouillon (grated). To prepare this homemade soup recipe, first boil the chicken, carrots, celery and onion in a large pot of cold water and boil until the chicken is falling off the bones. Make sure you skim the top off the water every now and then to remove as much of the fat as possible. Once the chicken is falling off the bones, strain the ingredients and set the broth aside. Remove the meat from the bones, chop the celery, carrot and onion and return to the broth. Add salt, pepper and the grated bouillon cube to taste and you are ready to serve this homemade soup recipe.
Lentil Soup Lentil soup is also a hearty, satisfying meal. For a good lentil soup, you will need the following: 1 pound of lentils which are picked and then rinsed, 1/2 cup of carrots which are finely chopped, 1 cup of onions that are finely chopped, 1/2 cup of celery which is finely chopped, 1 cup of tomatoes which are peeled and chopped, 1/2 teaspoon of toasted cumin which is freshly ground, 1/2 teaspoon of coriander which is freshly ground, and 1/2 teaspoon of grains of paradise which is freshly ground, 2 quarts of vegetable or chicken broth, 2 tablespoons of olive oil, 2 teaspoons of kosher salt. Preparation instructions for this homemade soup recipe - in a six quart Dutch oven, place your olive oil and heat over mid heat. When it is hot, add celery, onions, carrot, and salt and cook until the onion is transparent. Add tomatoes, lentils, cumin, coriander, grains of paradise and broth and stir until well blended. Cook on high to just boiling and then reduce heat and simmer for about 35 to 40 minutes or until the lentils become tender. This is a soup that is best when served immediately.
