The time and effort put into a homemade gift or craft will go a very long way in your mother's eyes, so let me share some wonderful ideas for Mother's Day crafts with you. A memorable Mother's Day craft idea is to make a "Book of Memories" for Mom in a scrapbook. The first thing you will have to do is purchase a scrapbook and then print out assorted pictures of Mom and family to place in the scrapbook. You can find assorted stickers, ribbon, and other decorative scrapbooking items at your local craft or store such as Wal-Mart or Target. Don't forget the crayons and / or markers to add personalized remarks and sentiments to Mom! Creativity is all yours as you create a sentimental "Book of Memories" for your mother, and rest assured that Mom will be thrilled at receiving such a thoughtful gift on Mother's Day. Another simple Mother's Day craft idea is to create a decorative photo frame and add a lovely picture of you and your mother to it. When I've created this gift in the past, I've used thick Popsicle sticks that I purchased at my local Wal-Mart. All it takes is four of these sticks glued together at the corners to make a square. Once the glue has dried, take some markers, stickers, and glitter glue to make decorative artwork on the Popsicle sticks. You can add your Mother's name or a sentiment such as, "Thank you for being the best Mommy ever!" Once you are done with that, get some construction paper or card stock paper and cut out a square that will fit the photo frame. Glue this to the Popsicle sticks and allow to dry. Then, cut your picture to fit the frame and glue to the paper. You will have a beautiful, handmade Mother's Day gift for your mother that she will absolutely adore! Another of the Mother's Day craft ideas that your mom will love to receive is a flowerpot decorated by you. There are several possibilities for such Mother's Day craft ideas. First, you can purchase just the pot and decorate it and give that as a gift, or you can add soil and plant flowers in the pot and give as a gift. I think the latter gift would be the better gift if you can pull it off. Simply purchase an undecorated flowerpot and, using paint, decorate the pot as you like. Then fill the pot with soil and plant seeds, or you can plant seedlings or sprouting flowers. No matter what you decide, your mother will love to receive this Mother's Day gift, as it will grow and every time she sees it or waters it, she will think of your thoughtfulness for such a beautiful gift.
