Start by getting a piece of paper out and think of the things you're willing to put on the coupons. Now, everybody's definition of "romantic" is different, and be sure to consider his wants, needs, desires and turn-ons.

For instance, if it would be a turn-on for your man if you mowed the lawn for him, then make up a coupon for that very task. Offer things like a ten-minute back massage, cooking his favorite dinner wearing only an apron, maybe even a weekend getaway without the kids - these are some possible romantic birthday gifts for him.

Cut the cardstock to whatever size you want to make the coupons on (or, use 3" x 5" index cards if you prefer). Make each coupon as ornate or as plain as you'd like - just be consistent. Write neatly the task or activity promised on each card. Make sure to put each item on its own coupon; don't do front/back as different items.

Once you've completed all of the coupons, you can laminate them (in the event that you might want to recycle them), or you may leave them as they are, if you prefer. Then, simply finish the project by punching a hole in the upper left hand corner of each coupon, and tying it together with a ribbon, or use the metal key-ring to hold them all together.

The last step is presentation. Leave them like they are and give them to him attached to a card. Or you could wrap them in a box. No matter how you decide, he'll love the options you've given him, and he can cash in on any of them at his leisure. Could there be more romantic birthday gifts for him? I think not.
