Useful ResourcesHalloween decorations come out of the closet as families like to decorate their homes with skeletons, witches, ghosts, and spiders. A very fun activity to do at Halloween time is to make scary Halloween recipes with your children. There are so many recipes to choose from that will be much fun to make. I will share a few popular scary Halloween recipes with you today. First, there is the classic haunted Gingerbread house that you can put together and decorate as scary as you'd like. You can purchase a gingerbread house kit and put together as directed. To decorate it, you will need a variety of candies and Halloween decorations. Use your creativity as you decorate. You can use candy corn for the shingles on the roof and licorice as the trim. You can use candy such as M and M's or skittles to decorate as you'd like. You can also use liquid frosting to write RIP on marshmallow tombs. No matter what you do, the activity will be so fun for you and your children and you will make great memories. Another fun and scary Halloween recipe to make is Boo-ti-ful Ghosts. For this recipe, you will need 2 cups of white morsels, 3 tablespoons of vegetable shortening, and 12 lollipop sticks. Microwave the morsels until almost melted. Stir. Put the lollipop sticks on a baking sheet lined with wax paper about 6 inches apart. Take a spoon and pour over half the lollipop stick and make it into a ghost shape. Let them cool. You can then decorate with candy or frosting. Since the lollipops are ghosts, you can put eyes and an open mouth on the lollipop with frosting. These treats will be a hit! Thirdly, you can make Butterfinger eyeballs as a scary Halloween treat. For this scary Halloween recipe, you will need 1 cup of peanut butter, 2 tablespoons of butter, 2 cups powdered sugar, 1 Butterfinger candy bar, 1 cup morsels, goobers, and 1 tube of red decorator icing. In a bowl, beat the peanut butter and butter until creamy. Then beat in the powdered sugar and stir in the chopped Butterfinger. Shape into little balls about the size of eyeballs and freeze for about an hour. Microwave the morsels until melted and then get the balls out of the freezer and dip them in the morsels. Allow them to dry and then add goobers for eyeballs and drizzle with the red icing to make it look like a bloody eyeball. Your scary eyeballs will be a hit at Halloween.
