Fun Valentine Projects - Ideas for Creative Valentine's Day Crafts

There are plenty of ideas for fun Valentine projects that you can carry out, and you can give many of these crafts away as gifts. You can even get the children involved in these Valentine's Day projects.

Consider the following Valentine project crafts for this Valentine's Day.

Butterfly Hearts

For this project, you will need craft sticks, markers, construction paper, a chenille stem, ribbon, and craft glue.

First, take a piece of construction paper and cut out two hearts. With the scissors, trim the bottom of the hearts. Lay the hearts down connecting the bottoms and slightly overlapping the bottoms. The hearts will resemble the wings of a butterfly. Glue the overlapping part together.

On a craft stick, use a marker to color in eyes and a mouth. Feel free to use the markers to color the stick as well. Use scissors to cut two 2-inch pieces from your chenille stem and glue to the back of the craft stick. This will be the butterfly's antenna.

Glue the hearts onto the craft stick (the stick is the body of the butterfly). Your butterfly is now ready for decoration. Glue the ribbon onto the center of the butterfly. You can color the wings any color you would like and also add other decorative items such as stickers or glitter. Also, you can write a message or a poem on the wings. Your butterfly will then be complete and ready to give as a gift or keep for yourself.

Decorate Photo Frame

For this Valentine project, you will need 4 large popsicle sticks, markers, construction paper, scissors, magnet strip, and glue. You may also use optional decorative items such as glitter or stickers.

The first thing you can do is decorate your popsicle sticks. Color them whatever color you would like and add glitter, stickers, or write a name or a message such as, "I love you". Once you are done, make a square with the sticks and glue them together.

Get one piece of construction paper out and cut it just large enough to fit onto the back of the popsicle sticks. This will be the backdrop for the picture. Glue it to the back of the sticks. Allow to dry.

Cut your picture to a size that will fit in the photo frame and glue it to the construction paper. Cut your magnet strip to fit the back of the frame and place on the top and bottom of the frame. Your photo frame will be complete. You can give away this Valentine project as a gift or place it on your refrigerator.

Decorative Flowerpot

Flowers make beautiful Valentine's Day gifts, so decorating your own flowerpot and planting beautiful flowers in it is a great idea for Valentine projects.

For this Valentine project, you will need a flowerpot, paint or markers, paintbrushes, soil, and flower seeds or seedlings to plant.

Take your pot and decorate it however you would like. You can paint hearts, words of affection, names, and so on. Once you are done painting, add the soil and the flower seeds or seedlings to the pot. Give it a little water and enjoy your beautiful flowers!
