Useful ResourcesToo many people fail to consider Valentine's Day as a time for parties, but it's a holiday, and, like any other holiday, you should think about parties. When we often think about Valentine's Day these days, we think about being romantic and showing people just how much we care. It's often associated as a holiday for women, but kids can learn a lot about how to approach and speak to people that they like. We can also make it holiday that they look forward to by having them play some Valentine's Day party games with their friends.
Valentine Card Mailbox This Valentine's Day party game requires you to be a little creative and make a few nice things that the kids can use, and perhaps keep after the game is over. One is a small mailbox. You can use just any old box that's big enough to place a small card in it. Of course, the size of the card is also entirely up to you. A variation on this game is that you can have the kids each make their own cards and mailboxes. They can paint or color it any way that they want, and they can even add the flag that is standard on most mailboxes to indicate outgoing mail. The object of the game is just like musical chairs. Everyone starts out with a mailbox, but only enough cards to go in all but one. The kids keep passing the cards around to music until the music stops. The child whose mailbox doesn't have a card in it will have to sit out the rest of the game. Keep doing this until there is only one child left, who is then the winner.
Valentine bingo This is a favorite Valentine's Day party game that is perfect for children of all ages, whether they are five years old or eighty-five. You can't go wrong when you play Valentine's Day bingo. The only thing that's different from regular bingo is that you will need to create or find heart shaped bingo cards. The rest of the game is basically the same. You can make your own variation on the game, however, by making it that the winner needs to have the numbers in the shape of a heart.
Valentine's Day hunt For this Valentine's Day party game, you just need a few Valentine's Day specific items, such as small hearts, cards, or even small heart-filled candies. You can hide these anywhere in the house and give clues to the kids about where to find different items. When they find all of the items on their list, they win. This is great for younger kids, because everyone wins in the end. Have fun with these Valentine's Day party games and you'll have a holiday to remember!
