Useful ResourcesThere are plenty of activities you can do at a Valentine's Day party, including making crafts and playing games. Here are a few Valentine's party games for you to consider playing at your party. These games are mainly for kids, but there is no reason why adults can't play them too!
Toss the heart game You will need a heart-shaped beanbag for this game and between 6 to 12 players. If you cannot find a heart-shaped beanbag, you can make your own or just use a regular beanbag for the game. Have the children line up facing each other and about 4 feet apart from each other. You can adjust the distance between the children based on their ages. Give the beanbag to one child and have him / her call out any of the other player's name. Once he / she has stated the name, he / she must toss the beanbag to that person. Each person that catches the beanbag has to call out another player's name and toss it to that person. Have the children continue to do this and see how long they can keep going without dropping the beanbag. After everyone gets the hang of the game, you can add a second and a third beanbag to make the game a bit more challenging. Once a beanbag has been dropped, a new game can begin and you can play this Valentine's party game until everyone gets tired of it.
Valentine's Day Pictionary Game Children love the game of Pictionary and will especially love playing Valentine's Day Pictionary. For this Valentine's party game, you can divide the children into teams and have them compete against each other. You can use some scrap paper to write on or print out words or phrases that relate to Valentine's Day. Fold them up and place in a bowl or jar for the children to choose from. You will need a dry erase board, chalkboard, or large poster paper for the children to write and draw pictures on. Have a player from a team select a piece of paper from the bowl and try to draw the word or phrase out onto the board for his / her team members to guess what it is. The player cannot talk, but he / she can use face and hands to make gestures. Select a time limit for the team (1 minute is a good amount of time). If the time elapses without the team being able to figure out the drawing, the other team can have a guess. Have the teams take turns and keep score. Use words such as cupid, box of chocolates, red, Valentine's Day card, love, conversation hearts, candy, roses, romance, blow me a kiss, be mine, sweetheart, and other words related to love and Valentine's Day. For this Valentine's party game, you can go as many rounds as you'd like and tally up the points when you are done. You can give a prize to the winning team if you'd like! Be creative at your next Valentine's Day party and research even more Valentine's party games to play. You can always play musical chairs, pin the tail on Cupid, and even have a scavenger hunt.
